Adding mandatory Terms & Conditions to Magento's checkout
From a legal point of view it definitely makes sense that your customers should accept your Terms & Conditions (T&C) before submitting their order.
With Magento this can be achieved easily by following the few steps listed below:
FFill out the form as displayed on the screenshot to activate the T&C.
- In your Magento Admin Panel, switch to «System» → «Configuration»
- On the left hand side, click on «Checkout»
- Set «Enable Terms and Conditions» to «Yes»
- Switch to «Sales» → «Terms and conditions»
- Click on «Add New Condition»
- Fill out the fields as displayed on the screenshot. Important: Don't forget to set the Status to «Active» and to select the correct Store View.
- Click on «Save Condition» to save your condition.
After activating the T&C no customer will be able to submit an order before accepting your T&C.
